Alexandra told me I had to write something around 400 words about myself. I could complain about it, but I\u2019m not\u2014I’m grateful for the opportunity because it gives me the chance to reflect on the many events over the years that led me here. I\u2019m now organizing the most important event for the WordPress community in Romania, an event meant to connect not only the community in Romania but also the entire WordPress community in Eastern Europe. Who knows, next year we might even organize WordCamp Balkans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of my passion for electronics, in my early teenage years, \u201chacking\u201d\u2014probably too strong a word\u2014became a big interest of mine. I wanted to learn how things work and how you could break them to create funny situations. This led me to create a forum for people passionate about electronics and hacking, which in turn pushed me to join other forums to learn more about web development. That\u2019s how I ended up on cwr.ro and invatam.net. Thanks to these two online communities, a poor boy discovered a new passion: web design. This was when I started learning Adobe Photoshop and began designing web pages, banners, and logos. We won’t discuss the quality or success of those designs for obvious reasons. Later, a neighbor of mine told me that what I was doing was cool, but that everyone, including himself, could do it\u2014bringing a webpage to life was the next step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The communities were the best support I received in my life, and the members helped me stay on the right track. Later on, I started doing front-end development, then back-end development, and now I focus on subscription-based websites and web performance. Occasionally, I still do design work for the joy of creating something from a blank page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have always been curious and eager to learn new things. Sometimes, I feel that a single human life is not enough to experience all the wonderful things the world has to offer. For that reason, we must be grateful and choose wisely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During my teenage years, I was passionate about music and learned how to mix tracks. However, I soon discovered that it wasn\u2019t something I was talented at\u2014I just wasn\u2019t feeling it; it was all math and logic to me. So, I decided to focus my energy on weightlifting, an Olympic sport I was passionate about and practiced for a couple of years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later on, I got hooked on an expensive hobby: photography. In a short time, this hobby turned into a side business, but it was eventually shut down by the pandemic. Shortly after that, I decided I wanted a hobby or side business that would get me out of the office. My wife and I started creating handcrafted wooden toys, which went well for a while, but we had to shift our focus back to our primary businesses for financial reasons. I still occasionally practice wood-working…and I will keep doing it until I have no empty spaces to fit a shelf or a cabinet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a point where I realized that these \u201chobbies\u201d were amazing but also very demanding and stressful. Then I remembered something my grandfather once told me: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, I enjoy hiking, camping, overlanding, playing board games, building LEGO, drawing doodles, and smoking cigars (the last two together are pure self-therapy). The best part? I can do photography all the time, with different subjects. Another second best part…all of them include cooking\/eating\/snaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I almost forgot\u2014thanks to a team-building event, I discovered a hidden talent: archery. Now, I\u2019m practicing with my recurve takedown bow, and it pairs nicely with overlanding and photography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m enjoying every moment of my daily job while keeping my creative side alive, which is an essential part of life. The best part is that I can keep my family close, spend quality time with them, and teach my kids new things that may help them discover new opportunities in life. I\u2019m married and have two beautiful daughters, so I live with three girls in the house. They are my daily photography subjects and my main source of motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When my first daughter was born, it was a shock that completely changed the way I behaved\u2014I started thinking more about risks and many other things. By the time my second daughter was born, I realized I had been overthinking and doing unnecessary things. In reality, the situation was much simpler\u2014all I needed to do was be there physically and emotionally as much as possible. This is exactly what I\u2019m doing now: trying to combine everything I do with my family so we can all enjoy our time together, of course, I’m enjoying other activities that the family prefers\/suggests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, a small thing that mostly goes unnoticed…I enjoy stickers as much as my biggest girl does. I see stickers on my laptop as memories of things I’ve done or used in the past, probably the modern-day cave painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, on the professional side, I enjoyed the process of doing things more than the financial outcome, this led to impressive results for some projects and some great failures, I believe everything needs a balance. While being part of the organizing team of TRIBE Live event I’ve learned that failure is part of the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the building where I live, three families, including mine, generate their income by using WordPress. This realization made me deeply thankful for the entire WordPress community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope everyone who uses WordPress, whether for pleasure or to generate revenue, understands the impact and appreciates the efforts of all the volunteers worldwide who build and maintain the WordPress software and who support and invest in the WordPress community by organizing WordCamps and Meetups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know I’m doing a lot right now, but I’ve worked with people who become my mentors ( probably they don’t know that ) and they’ve taught me how to handle everything, in the future when my children are gonna leave for college or simply when my energy levels are gonna drop I will chill-down and retire early, enjoy cigars, books, traveling, growing animals, overlading, hiking and doing hand-crafts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A\u0219 putea s\u0103 m\u0103 pl\u00e2ng de asta, dar nu o fac – sunt recunosc\u0103tor pentru oportunitate, deoarece \u00eemi ofer\u0103 \u0219ansa s\u0103 reflectez la numeroasele evenimente din ultimii ani care m-au adus aici. Acum organizez cel mai important eveniment pentru comunitatea WordPress din Rom\u00e2nia, un eveniment menit s\u0103 conecteze nu doar comunitatea din Rom\u00e2nia, ci \u0219i \u00eentreaga comunitate WordPress din Europa de Est. Cine \u0219tie, poate anul viitor vom organiza chiar \u0219i WordCamp Balkans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Datorit\u0103 pasiunii mele pentru electronic\u0103, la \u00eenceputul adolescen\u021bei, \u201ehacking-ul\u201d – probabil un cuv\u00e2nt prea puternic – a devenit un mare interes al meu. Voiam s\u0103 \u00eenv\u0103\u021b cum func\u021bioneaz\u0103 lucrurile \u0219i cum le-ai putea sparge pentru a crea situa\u021bii amuzante. Acest lucru m-a determinat s\u0103 creez un forum pentru pasiona\u021bii de electronic\u0103 \u0219i hacking, ceea ce la r\u00e2ndul s\u0103u m-a determinat s\u0103 m\u0103 al\u0103tur altor forumuri pentru a afla mai multe despre dezvoltarea web. A\u0219a am ajuns pe cwr.ro \u0219i invatam.net. Datorit\u0103 acestor dou\u0103 comunit\u0103\u021bi online, un b\u0103iat s\u0103rac a descoperit o nou\u0103 pasiune: web design-ul. Atunci am \u00eenceput s\u0103 \u00eenv\u0103\u021b Adobe Photoshop \u0219i am \u00eenceput s\u0103 proiectez pagini web, bannere \u0219i logo-uri. Nu vom discuta calitatea sau succesul acelor designuri din motive evidente. Mai t\u00e2rziu, un vecin al meu mi-a spus c\u0103 ceea ce fac e mi\u0219to, dar c\u0103 toat\u0103 lumea, inclusiv el \u00eensu\u0219i, ar putea s\u0103 o fac\u0103 – aducerea unei pagini web la via\u021b\u0103 era urm\u0103torul pas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comunitatea a fost cel mai bun sprijin pe care l-am primit \u00een via\u021b\u0103, iar membrii m-au ajutat s\u0103 r\u0103m\u00e2n pe drumul cel bun. Mai t\u00e2rziu, am \u00eenceput s\u0103 fac dezvoltare front-end, apoi back-end \u0219i acum m\u0103 concentrez pe site-urile bazate pe abonamente \u0219i performan\u021ba web. Ocazional, \u00eenc\u0103 fac lucr\u0103ri de design pentru bucuria de a crea ceva dintr-o pagin\u0103 alb\u0103.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Am fost \u00eentotdeauna curios \u0219i dornic s\u0103 \u00eenv\u0103\u021b lucruri noi. Uneori, simt c\u0103 o singur\u0103 via\u021b\u0103 nu este suficient\u0103 pentru a experimenta toate lucrurile minunate pe care le are de oferit lumea. Din acest motiv, trebuie s\u0103 fim recunosc\u0103tori \u0219i s\u0103 alegem cu \u00een\u021belepciune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00cen timpul adolescen\u021bei, eram pasionat de muzic\u0103 \u0219i am \u00eenv\u0103\u021bat s\u0103 mixez piese. Cu toate acestea, am descoperit cur\u00e2nd c\u0103 nu eram talentat la asta – pur \u0219i simplu nu sim\u021beam nimic; pentru mine era toat\u0103 matematic\u0103 \u0219i logic\u0103. A\u0219a c\u0103 am decis s\u0103 \u00eemi concentrez energia pe haltere, un sport olimpic de care eram pasionat \u0219i pe care l-am practicat c\u00e2\u021biva ani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mai t\u00e2rziu, m-am prins de un hobby scump: fotografia. \u00centr-un timp scurt, acest hobby s-a transformat \u00eentr-o afacere secundar\u0103, dar a fost \u00een cele din urm\u0103 \u00eenchis\u0103 de pandemie. La scurt timp dup\u0103 aceea, am decis c\u0103 \u00eemi doresc un hobby sau o afacere secundar\u0103 care s\u0103 m\u0103 scoat\u0103 din birou. Eu \u0219i so\u021bia mea am \u00eenceput s\u0103 cre\u0103m juc\u0103rii din lemn lucrate manual, ceea ce a mers bine pentru o vreme, dar a trebuit s\u0103 ne schimb\u0103m focusul \u00eenapoi la afacerile noastre principale din motive financiare. \u00cenc\u0103 mai practic ocazional prelucrarea lemnului… \u0219i o voi face p\u00e2n\u0103 c\u00e2nd nu voi mai avea spa\u021bii libere pentru a potrivi un raft sau un dulap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fost un moment \u00een care mi-am dat seama c\u0103 aceste \u201ehobby-uri\u201d erau minunate, dar \u0219i foarte solicitante \u0219i stresante. Apoi mi-am amintit ceva ce mi-a spus odat\u0103 bunicul meu:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00cen prezent, \u00eemi place s\u0103 fac drume\u021bii, camping, overlanding, s\u0103 joc jocuri de societate, s\u0103 construiesc LEGO, s\u0103 desenez doodle-uri \u0219i s\u0103 fumez trabucuri (ultimele dou\u0103 \u00eempreun\u0103 sunt pur\u0103 autoterapie). Cea mai bun\u0103 parte? Pot face fotografie tot timpul, cu subiecte diferite. O alt\u0103 a doua cea mai bun\u0103 parte… toate acestea includ g\u0103titul\/m\u00e2ncatul\/gustatul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aproape c\u0103 uitasem – datorit\u0103 unui eveniment de team-building, am descoperit un talent ascuns: tirul cu arcul. Acum, practic cu arcul meu recurve takedown \u0219i se potrive\u0219te frumos cu overlanding-ul \u0219i fotografia.

M\u0103 bucur de fiecare moment al jobului meu zilnic, p\u0103str\u00e2ndu-mi \u00een acela\u0219i timp partea creativ\u0103 vie, ceea ce este o parte esen\u021bial\u0103 a vie\u021bii. Cea mai bun\u0103 parte este c\u0103 \u00eemi pot \u021bine familia aproape, pot petrece timp de calitate cu ei \u0219i le pot \u00eenv\u0103\u021ba copiilor lucruri noi care \u00eei pot ajuta s\u0103 descopere noi oportunit\u0103\u021bi \u00een via\u021b\u0103. Sunt c\u0103s\u0103torit \u0219i am dou\u0103 fiice frumoase, a\u0219a c\u0103 locuiesc cu trei fete \u00een cas\u0103. Ele sunt subiec\u021bii mei zilnici de fotografie \u0219i principala mea surs\u0103 de motiva\u021bie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u00e2nd s-a n\u0103scut prima mea fiic\u0103, a fost un \u0219oc care mi-a schimbat complet comportamentul – am \u00eenceput s\u0103 m\u0103 g\u00e2ndesc mai mult la riscuri \u0219i la multe alte lucruri. P\u00e2n\u0103 c\u00e2nd s-a n\u0103scut a doua mea fiic\u0103, mi-am dat seama c\u0103 am g\u00e2ndit prea mult \u0219i am f\u0103cut lucruri inutile. \u00cen realitate, situa\u021bia era mult mai simpl\u0103 – tot ce trebuia s\u0103 fac era s\u0103 fiu acolo fizic \u0219i emo\u021bional c\u00e2t mai mult posibil. Asta este exact ce fac acum: \u00eencerc s\u0103 combin totul cu familia mea, astfel \u00eenc\u00e2t s\u0103 ne putem bucura cu to\u021bii de timpul petrecut \u00eempreun\u0103, desigur, m\u0103 bucur \u0219i de alte activit\u0103\u021bi pe care familia le prefer\u0103\/sugereaz\u0103.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De exemplu, un lucru mic care trece adesea neobservat… \u00eemi plac autocolantele la fel de mult ca fetei mele cele mai mari. V\u0103d autocolante pe laptopul meu ca amintiri ale lucrurilor pe care le-am f\u0103cut sau le-am folosit \u00een trecut, probabil pictura rupestr\u0103 modern\u0103.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00centre timp, pe partea profesional\u0103, m-am bucurat mai mult de procesul de a face lucrurile dec\u00e2t de rezultatul financiar, acest lucru a dus la rezultate impresionante pentru unele proiecte \u0219i la unele e\u0219ecuri grozave, cred c\u0103 totul are nevoie de un echilibru. \u00cen timp ce am f\u0103cut parte din echipa de organizare a evenimentului TRIBE Live, am \u00eenv\u0103\u021bat c\u0103 e\u0219ecul face parte din proces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00cen cl\u0103direa \u00een care locuiesc, trei familii, inclusiv a mea, \u00ee\u0219i genereaz\u0103 venitul folosind WordPress. Aceast\u0103 realizare m-a f\u0103cut profund recunosc\u0103tor pentru \u00eentreaga comunitate WordPress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sper ca to\u021bi cei care folosesc WordPress, fie pentru pl\u0103cere sau pentru a genera venituri, s\u0103 \u00een\u021beleag\u0103 impactul \u0219i s\u0103 aprecieze eforturile tuturor voluntarilor din \u00eentreaga lume care construiesc \u0219i \u00eentre\u021bin software-ul WordPress \u0219i care sus\u021bin \u0219i investesc \u00een comunitatea WordPress prin organizarea de WordCamps \u0219i Meetups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
